Maybe not all the kiwi fruit you buy is in a mature condition. Or, perhaps you are deliberately buying a kiwi that is still hard to keep longer.
However, if you want to immediately consume kiwi in the near future, how to make a kiwi that you buy more quickly mature?
Apparently, the way is very easy. Disclosed by Anastasia Damayanti, manager of Zespri Indonesia, you can put kiwi near fruit containing ethylene gas.
Some of the fruits that contain this gas include bananas, apples, grapes. This gas plays a role in the fruit ripening process.
“This gas can help kiwi fruit ripening just by putting it near the fruits that contain ethylene gas,” said Anastasia, at a media gathering of Zespri in Kebayoran Baru, Jakarta, Tuesday, May 23, 2017.
If it feels soft, you can process the kiwi into another food or stored back. The trick can be stored in the refrigerator.
“Saving fruit in the fridge can slow down the ripening process so as not to rot quickly,” she said.
